This preconference is a new offering and designed to address AMPA members desire for networking and group discussions. Both clinical and administrative topics will be presented in an open format. This will include a round-table discussion of several topics that are applicable to medical directors lives right now including crew training and skills maintenance, contracts, reimbursement, liability insurance issues, proper utilization and more. While this offering may be best for the seasoned medical director or those who have completed the Core Curriculum, the topics and discussion will be beneficial to all medical directors.
Educational Objectives: At the completion of this conference participants will be able to:
Define the difference between community and hospital-based crew training and skills maintenance.
Understand the fine points of reimbursement regulations as they apply to the medical director.
Explain through case presentation what can go right and what can go wrong in the air medical transport setting.
Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the Balanced Score Card.
Describe best practice for treatment and air medical transport of STEMI and stroke patients.
Relate the criteria for medical scene transport.
Describe how to begin to create a marketing plan for your transport program
